HVD6100 is the world's first professional IRD that combines decoder functionality with support for AVC/H.264 HDTV, 4:2:2 chroma with a DVB-S2 demodulator. The decoder function supports multi-format (AVC/H.264 and MPEG-2, 4:2:2/4:2:0 chroma and HDTV/SDTV) and comes equipped with a variety of features such as HDTV/SDTV resolution conversion. The demodulator function supports DVB-S2, DVB-DSNG and DVB-S formats for high-performance satellite transmissions.

Booth demonstration
Videos compressed using two different bitrates were demonstrated using a triple PDP monitor. We exhibited an Integrated Receiver Decoder (IRD) that achieves about 300 msec with an actual measurement.

With an AVC/H.264 Encoder LSI chipset built-in that supports 4:2:2 Chroma, the HVE9100 provides high-quality and low latency in a wide range of bit rate. It supports MPEG-2 format for smooth transition from existing MPEG-2 equipment to the up-and-coming AVC/H.264 format.

Booth demonstration
We used the HVE9100(encoder) / HVD6100(decoder) and performed a demonstration which showed the high definition quality.

HV9100 Series, offers both high video quality and low latency at a high rate and supports the AVC/H.264 4:2:2 chroma format. For these reasons, the HV9100 series was selected as the codec equipment for HD sports provider MLB Network.

Product overview
The MPC1010 is a digital broadcast platform that can be installed with multiple MPEG-2 HDTV/SDTV encoders which allows for high image quality, high reliability and high cost performance. With an encoder IC that provides high-quality MPEG-2 videos, the unit supports both HDTV (1080i and 720p) and SDTV (576i and 480i) standards.

Booth demonstration
We exhibited 4ch simultaneous output using one set of HD PDP and a triple SD monitor. The MPC1010 has a modular design that allows for flexible adaptation to operator needs and can provide simultaneous encoding of up to four different video and audio channels in a single rack. The MPC1010 drew great interest from NAB attendees considering the introduction of a terrestrial broadcasting system.
