NTT Electronics and Nistica Corporation Enter Into a Strategic Partnership Agreement

NTT Electronics Corporation (President & CEO: Hiroshi Yoshimura -Yokohama, Japan, hereafter NEL) announced at OFC 2010 today that they have entered into a strategic partnership agreement with the Nistica Corporation (CEO: Ashish Vengsarkar -Bridgewater, NJ, USA). In this agreement, NEL becomes a member of the investor syndicate, joining existing strategic partner Fujikura Limited (President & CEO: Yoichi Nagahama -Tokyo, Japan).

With this strategic investment partnership, NEL, the inventor of Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) technology, will further add to their current robust and cutting edge PLC product family by incorporating Nistica's Fledge product platform of WSS devices into NEL's ROADM solutions. Under the terms of the strategic partnership agreement, NEL takes a stake in Nistica.

NEL President & CEO, Hiroshi Yoshimura, remarked "The huge surge in broadband demands across the world and high growth areas like FTTHome / FTTCell deployments translates into the need for low-cost agile devices closer to the edge of optical networks. We believe our strategy to invest in Nistica and team up with their manufacturing partner Fuikura, will more quickly facilitate solutions for these demands for the worldwide market."
